I have finally managed to get my CNC machines working and ready to make parts.

A grabrail was one that we considered but shelved at the time.

The plan is to make it from solid billet aluminium. Not as cheap as the tube but a crap ton better looking.

Ill model something up and present for critique. Suppose the question will be, what are people willing to pay for a decent bit of engineering? Ill do some options and get feedback.

Look at the rails on the fz1-s I'd say that's a pretty good looking one. Maybe you should propose a price which would be enough for you to start making them?

It should wheelie a bit better with a solid billet rail
Would imagine a lot of waste from the billet to incorporate the rail as well ?

Ye, depends on the design and if I can do more than one and stagger the shapes in the billet.

Yup. I fitted on my soft pannier (saddle bags type) from my MT-09. And they sat/sit better after I fitted on the rear carrier rack. So, I agree, side grab rails would also help hold soft Panniers up out and off away from the small side panels.

Especially if the design took that into consideration.
