Thumbs up Reliability (Fuel pump) 600 miles only !

    Hello everyone

I just like to share my experience after the first service at 600 miles, rode the bike home and parked it up 24 hours later a non starter, battery ok and ignition kick in
    but she doesn't wanna start.
brand new bike I bought for reliability and I get this Its on a truck back to the dealers...thank you for the RAC recovery membership...looks like I need it!
Dealers reckon its the fuel pump shot already....feel dissapointed in Yamaha as I have had enough problems with KTM...happy days !File_000.jpg

Wouldn't let it bother you, all mechanical things can go wrong!
You choose the brand that goes wrong least!

ME's thinking, Opps you maybe Jonah , Opps unlucky.

Hundreds upon 100s with no pump issues.

Hard to diagnose by phone; It might be just a blown fuse !

Or if over fuel filled, parked up and sun shone on tank its said that can cause starting difficulty.

    Anyhow, plz keep us posted...

Fingers crossed for you / your bike.

I had a fuse blow that causes same issues. Could quite easily be that

Exactly as Andy says ...all this will be fixed soon and a distant memory!

Yep agree, wouldn't call it a "reliability" issue - maybe character building, I had water in the fuel once that did the same.

A running, but faulty fuel pump will sound different. If it's totally quiet, it's just not powered.
I had this issue on my Bolt, where the pump souded like a kitchen mixer. Dealer registered warranty issue and it got swapped.

thank you for your input members I appreciate it....on a side note the dealers lent me am MT-09...oh my God...it is so much fun in town...the seating position is so much more forward and agressive and it turns on a six pence, it turns rush hour London in to a street battle race track..the little bike is awesome you can almost do anything on this bike, you can throw it about like anything...infact I almost prefer it over the MT-10 , its less plush but I feel tired and worn out after hammering it about but in a nice way, where as at the moment the MT-10 feels a bit too refined and luxurious for me. MT-09 is a cracking bike...i think Yamaha have it spot on with the MT range

^ Yup, the MT range good and MT-09 cracker fun.

However, the 10 comes into its own on outta town/city.

The 10 is about 30% more expensive but over 30% more serious.

The 09 is a keen wee terrier the 10 a big cat that purrs about until you pull the trigger and it heaps off into its stride and sprints off away like an exploding leopard.

The 10 more sporty and covers ground and distance so so much better.

    All will be grand...

Keep us posted on the return of your -10...
