Brands Hatch GP Circuit - Noise Levels

    Morning,
I have just booked a track day at Brands Hatch on 12th July and I'm a little concerned about noise levels.

I'm running the standard end can with a Scorpion decat pipe so I know she is fairly loud.

Noise limits are 101db static and 92db drive by.

Anyone with a similar setup had their bike noise tested? Any views if I should be looking for some way to reduce the noise?

    Thanks!

I would have guessed no way will it be the that quiet , can't quantify that however from experience a straight pipe and with no baffle in the standard pipe would be too loud , on my old R1 I had to fit a baffle to the end can to get anywhere near that

Dave. My last track day at brands I had an SP engineering end can with the standard collector and I was on 95db. I think you may struggle. Maybe get a db killer / baffle for the day. You don't want to go home disappointed.

I think you're going to have to refit the cat to make a 101 limit.

For a few quid you could get a db meter from eBay and tape it to a 1 meter stick to get a reading similar to the track day noise tests. Would be interesting to see what it really puts out.

I just had a message back from Scorpion-

    Hi Dave,
The bike with a decat pipe and standard silencer measured 97.5 db at 5750 rpm the we tested.
    Kind Regards
    Scorpion Exhausts

It's very close to the edge.

I have just downloaded an app for my phone I will try tonight

I can see you can buy a separate generic db killer, anyone tried one?

Yeah I have choked the feck out of the bike , but that was a different bike so not sure
Just been out on mine with the graves fitted and no dub killer , sounds mint but probably still over the limit I reckon
