^ Agree, from what you describe, it seems your battery is weaken toast. Sounds like best to replace battery with new one. Buying a battery online or from good battery supplier other than your dealer should save some cost. Suggest use the battery make and model type number (or take old one to shops) to get a replacement. Quoting battery model type is better than using the bikes model number. Hope this helps.

Thank you X Plane. W.r.t changing a battery, i just called a yamaha dealer who says it costs 90pounds and the cheapest i have managed online is 120pounds. so looks like dealer cheaper. also, if i try to replace it myself, is it just a lift and replace or more technical ?

^ Replacing is Straightforward lift out old and replace new in same way.

Black wire off old - first is best and then the Red wire off old + Then Red wire on first onto new + and then Black wire onto new - is the best way to do a change.
